Faculty Position in Pharmacy Practice

Union University seeks two qualified individuals for tenure-track faculty in the College of Pharmacy’s Doctor of Pharmacy program in Pharmacy Practice beginning Fall 2021. Rank assignment commensurate with education and experience.

Union University is a private, coeducational liberal arts-based university offering bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees. The campus is located in Jackson, Tenn. (80 miles northeast of Memphis) with additional campuses in Germantown, Hendersonville, and Memphis, Tenn. Union University currently enrolls about 3,200 undergraduate and graduate students from 48 states and 15 countries. The College of Pharmacy is fully accredited and distinguished by a small class size of approximately 40 students per class and academic excellence. Weighted average NAPLEX pass rates for Union University from 2014-2020 is 8th in the nation, and the Class of 2020 NAPLEX pass rate was #1 in the state and #7 in the country. The College is located in a state-of-the-art facility called Providence Hall.

Position Description:

Responsibilities include contributing to curriculum development and implementation, classroom, laboratory, and experiential instruction, and modeling faculty-student research. The College consists of faculty representing the essential academic disciplines of pharmacy education. The leadership team has developed a program based on Christian worldview principles and characterized by academic excellence in teaching, research, Christian service, and student life.


Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Pharm.D. or terminal pharmacy degree. Preference will be given to residency-trained applicants and those with academic teaching experience.

A demonstrated history of excellence in the pharmacy profession with either classroom, practice, research, or industry experience also required.

Successful candidates must be professing Christians who are active members of a local church, enthusiastically support Union University’s Identity, Mission and Core Values, and articulate a Christian worldview in their work and life.
