Union Station Associate (Part-time)

Union University seeks a qualified individual for the position of Union Station Associate (Part-time)This position works Monday - Friday from noon - 4:30 p.m.

(80 miles northeast of Memphis) with additional campuses in Germantown, Hendersonville, and Memphis, Tenn. Position Description:

  • Operate the University “Switchboard.”
    • Answer and transfer calls to desired department or individual.
    • Field any questions that may be asked and answer them both knowledgeably and professionally.
  • Facilitate requests for enrollment verification as needed.
    • Print enrollment verifications and properly distribute them by mailing, faxing, or delivering to the intended recipient.
    • Verify degrees and enrollment requests via telephone.
  • Receive and process tuition and other payments upon request.
    • Process mail, over-the-telephone, and in-person payments.
    • Answer questions concerning student accounts, refunds, and tuition charges that are asked either in person or via telephone inquiries.
  • Process student drop/add slips during registration periods.
  • Greet any students, parents, or visitors that arrive at Union Station, including directing them to a requested location and answering questions professionally.
  • Maintain the petty cash drawer, stamps, and transcript money.
  • Process transcripts.
    • Clear account and charge for transcripts.
    • Call student with any unusual situation regarding this request, including transcript problems, incomplete or inaccurate credit card information or student account holds.
  • Mail out payment receipts.
  • Help create a student-friendly environment that is both welcoming and open while maintaining professionalism between and among students and employees.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Union Station Coordinator.


Qualifications:

Graduation from high school or equivalent and a minimum of two years of clerical experience and/or customer service required. Preference will be given to candidates who hold a bachelor’s degree. This position requires strong customer service and communication skills, the ability to multi-task, and the ability to work in a fast-paced college environment.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also required, with demonstrated proficiency in Word, Excel, and other technology.
