Union University seeks a qualified individual for the position of Coordinator for Barefoots Joe & Modero Coffee Roasters.

Position Description:

The Coordinator manages the daily operations of Barefoots Joe and Modero Coffee, manages baristas, oversees inventory and monthly financial responsibilities, and maintains the social media accounts, among other duties. This person assists the Director in training and developing baristas, monitoring revenue and expenses, and cultivating a strong sense of community on campus. This twelve-month, part-time position reports to the Director of Barefoots Joe and Modero Coffee and works within the Student Life division of the university. Duties include:

  • Oversee daily operations of shops, which includes ensuring that baristas have necessary supplies, responding to issues, and coordinating catering requests.
  • Manage baristas in their daily work. Manage student worker / intern who tracks inventory, delivers supplies, and assists with office work.
  • Coordinate delivery of coffee shipments and other products to appropriate shops.
  • Oversee monthly food menu, which includes updating monthly menus and quantities, creating external menus for campus, and communicating with Dining Services.
  • Manage social media accounts and marketing to campus and broader community.
  • Assist in hiring, training, and developing student baristas, which includes an extensive fall training and smaller spring and summer trainings.
  • Responsible for financial accounting for the shops.
  • Work with Director to meet revenue goals while monitoring expenses.
  • Responsible for scheduling baristas, which includes weekly and events schedules, and approving timecards.
  •  Maintain campus calendars with Barefoots and Modero events.
  •  Maintain Square inventory items and registers, and manage online store sales by fulfilling orders.
  •  Assist with Centrifuge, events, catering, or campus guests, as needed.
  •  Assist with any other duties as assigned by the Director of Barefoots Joe and Modero Coffee.
  • Other administrative duties include meeting regularly with Director, attending All Staff meetings every other month, and submitting weekly highlights.


High school graduate with preference for college experience. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated experience in successful business operations and employee supervision. Experience working as a barista and training and managing baristas preferred.
