Nursing Admissions Specialist

Union University seeks a qualified individual for the position of Nursing Admissions Specialist. This position has the responsibility to coordinate and support the admissions plan and enrollment process attracting highly qualified nursing students to Union University.  The Christ-centered process is people-focused to promote the academic excellence of the School of Nursing and Union University.

Union University is a private, coeducational liberal arts-based university offering bachelorís, masterís and doctoral degrees. The campus is located in Jackson, Tenn. (80 miles northeast of Memphis) with additional campuses in Germantown, Hendersonville, and Memphis, Tenn. Position Description:
 

  • Exhibits the calling of Christ in serving the prospective students of the College of Nursing.
  • Expresses the identity, mission, goals, and purpose of the College of Nursing and Union University effectively.
  • Process applications, transcripts, and all mail for the Nursing Admissions office which includes maintaining clean organized files on each applicant and correctly entering information.
  • Corresponds with applicants by letter, email, and phone calls with the status of the application file.
  • Provides excellence in customer service by articulating the educational offerings of the College of Nursing available at Jackson, Hendersonville, and Germantown campuses so that inquires may be answered with thorough knowledge through visits and interactions by email, phone calls, visits to prospective students, faculty, and staff.
  • Collect and process all deposits for each applicant required to take courses or be guaranteed a place in the cohort to which they are applying.
  • Assist and support in the implementation and ongoing comprehensive College of Nursing Admissions marketing and recruitment plan.
  • Coordinates and supports all activities related to the enrollment process.
  • Demonstrates effective organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date information about prospective applicants, including the maintenance of related reports.
  • Assist the Director in incorporating technology in the marketing and recruitment plan and enrollment process.
  • Assist in the development and updating of recruitment materials. Coordinate the printing and internal distribution of these materials;
  • Collects and analyzes admission data to find trends to support the marketing and recruitment plan and enrollment process at the direction of the Associate Dean of the Undergraduate College of Nursing
  • Collaborates with Leadership Council, faculty, and staff of College of Nursing in the enrollment of new students and reporting to these key stakeholders on the progress of enrollments.
  • Assist in the recruitment of highly qualified applicants at the local, state, and national level;
  • Calculate GPAís for each application file submitted to the College of Nursing as directed by the Associate Dean of the UG College of Nursing.


Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate's degree and related experience. Preference will be given to applicants with a bachelor's degree  Additional qualifications include excellent organizational and technological skills, and a willingness to travel if needed for recruitment.
