Employer Relations Coordinator

Union University seeks a qualified individual for the position of Employer Relations Coordinator within the office of Vocatio Center for Life Calling and Career.

Position Description:

Coordinate external opportunities

  • Work with the Director to identify new employers and opportunities for full-time, part-time, internships, and job shadowing experiences to advertise to Union students.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for external employers on UUConnect.
  • Assist the Director in actively recruiting new employers while maintaining relationships with existing employer partnerships through regular communication and visits.
  • Assist external employers in registering on UUConnect, including posting job opportunities and withdrawing job opportunities when they are filled.
  • Actively pursue new full-time, part-time, internship, and shadowing opportunities for students.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for the Young Professionals Career Fair, Education Expo, and all other virtual or on-campus recruiting events.
  • Promote external opportunities with departments on campus as appropriate.
  • Regularly connect with employers to assess recruitment efforts.
  • Research and develop a proposal for an internship program in partnership with academic departments.  

Career services to students and alumni

  • Assist the Director in the effort of engaging faculty in order to identify new employers and internship opportunities for students.
  • Work with the Director and faculty to develop college/school/department-specific events designed to cultivate connections between students, employers, and alumni.
  • Regularly meet with students to provide career coaching and mentoring, resume critiques, grad school preparation, and interview preparation.
  • Coordinate with departments to plan and present workshops related to career preparation and development.
  • Connect students with alumni and other mentors in their desired fields to assist with career preparation and development.


First Destination Survey reporting

  • Collect First-Destination Survey (FDS) data annually and compile FDS Report.
  • Work with the Director to identify areas for growth among specific majors and departments.


  • Utilize email and social media marketing to promote employment and recruiting opportunities and to encourage participation in Vocatio Center events.
  • Create digital and print marketing materials for Vocatio Center events.
  • Market Vocatio events to students and faculty /staff.
  • Highlight stories of student and alumni career success.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of the Vocatio Center for Life Calling and Career.


Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree is required. Prior work experience in business, student leadership, Christian mentoring, life calling and career, higher education, and/or other like experience is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with a diversity of students, faculty, staff, employers, and community members.
