Online Course Design Coordinator

Union University seeks a qualified individual for the position of Online Course Design CoordinatorThe Online Course Design Coordinator works a set 29 hours per week and is responsible for managing all aspects of the design, development, and delivery of online courses and providing support to faculty and adjuncts for online course delivery. Remote candidates will be considered.

Position Description:

  • Provides expertise and consults with faculty and adjuncts in course design, development, content integration, implementation, and instructional planning and evaluation of online courses and programs.  

  • Coordinates instructional design projects from inception to completion and documents, tracks, analyzes, and reports project findings to stakeholders. 

  • Designs and produces learning materials in a variety of formats including text, graphics, audio, video, animations, and multimedia in an effort to support online teaching.  

  • Provides training and leads a minimum of two workshops annually, assists with technology and the course management system, and implements effective best practice uses of online multimedia to enhance course effectiveness in overall program outcomes.  

  • Works with Universityís Information Technology (IT) Department in order to understand and manage the technical aspects of the integration of delivery of the Schoolís online programs with the Universityís systems.  

  • Collaborates with stakeholders to perform periodic reviews and evaluations of online courses to ensure courses are pedagogically sound, ADA compliant, and in accordance with copyright laws; and documents and reports the findings of these reviews. 

  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelorís degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Educational Technology, or related field and minimum of four yearsí experience in curriculum development and design and learning management systems.   

Preference will be given to applicants with a masterís degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Educational Technology or related field; minimum of two yearsí experience in curriculum development and design for online courses and programs; and online teaching experience.
